This painting is going so the way I want it too...and I even have thought that it might turn out to be my best work to date...but that's just my opinion :)

laying down the foundation

Started with the oils on "Spectre"...basic blueish tone to it all and then added the colors for the skin...I've also blocked out the characters with a darker blueish/green but I forgot to take a photo of that so here's what it looked like saturday...sunday pic will be up maybe tomorrow!
Really liking this picture...it's got a cool film noir feel to it, which is something I don't think I've done before..the plan is to make it darker than the colorsketch...and have a very distinct seperation between the lights and shadows..

Thought I should post the inspiration (or the starting point...) and a color sample I did in photoshop....what sucks is that I'm not sure can make the painting as cool as the color sample is...please please please make the painting as sweet as that!!

Phil Spectre featuring Candy Cain

Started this last night and worked kinda late...just couldn't stop....
A friend of mine gave me an idea of painting famous paintings but making them in my style with my characters...and as you might see in the first picture the painting I was emulating was Gustav Klimts "the kiss"...but working a little more I added elements that took it quit far away from where I started....
So far it's only acrylics...not sure what I'm going to do with it this weekend....we'll see

Worked on this Monday evening and did a few touch ups when I could these past days...(been sick so not too much was done)
I'm waiting for it to dry (oils) and then I plan to "block out" the colors more...you'll see what I mean when I've done it...

Sketches from mind to pad

Sat down with a pad and a fine tipped pen and just had fun sketching...seemed like ages ago that I did that and I was pleasently suprised at the stuff that came out of my head/hand... Check 'em out!

Started this one yesterday from scratch...almost...Not my usual style...but fun to just go to town on it without really thinking...a few tweaks need to be done...maybe tonight...
