Cleaned up the previous pic with a more illustrator look fro teh octopus and a cleanlined version of the jumper.

Also inverted the picture because someone reminded me that the octopus gets covered up by desktoop icons if you use it for that :)

Started this piece yesterday, was going to be a dude jumping in to the picture or standing in striking pose (you know...the usual) but just couldn't get the feel I was after.

So now it's a lord of the underworld kinda dude...not sure what happens next...

Here he is (Caine) at the Gates of Hell delivering a few souls, now you have a hint as to what the story might be about... :)

Like the composition of this sketch, with the upside down doorway into hell...might change the previous painting idea to be more like this...painting is still in pencil stage anyway...

Been watching a bunch of cartoons recently...The Batman (season 1-2), The Batman vs Dracula , Hellboy animated and Battle Angel Alita.
Speaking of battle Angel Alita, I've started re-reading all of the comicbooks...wow to the speed on those pages...when people use the phrase "the stuff jumps right off the page"...I think they meant those pages :)
Can't wait to see B.A.A. done by James Cameron in his new 3D technology...sweet!

Did this 5 min sketch to show the plan for my next painting.
Hmmm, guy fighting people and he has a sword and a gun...neeever done that before ;)
But this time there's a reeeaaal cool story behind it which might turn out to be a comic of sorts...we'll see...need paper...pencils...and time ;)

Started with the oils on "Spectre"...basic blueish tone to it all and then added the colors for the skin...I've also blocked out the characters with a darker blueish/green but I forgot to take a photo of that so here's what it looked like saturday...sunday pic will be up maybe tomorrow!
Really liking this picture...it's got a cool film noir feel to it, which is something I don't think I've done before..the plan is to make it darker than the colorsketch...and have a very distinct seperation between the lights and shadows..

Started this last night and worked kinda late...just couldn't stop....
A friend of mine gave me an idea of painting famous paintings but making them in my style with my characters...and as you might see in the first picture the painting I was emulating was Gustav Klimts "the kiss"...but working a little more I added elements that took it quit far away from where I started....
So far it's only acrylics...not sure what I'm going to do with it this weekend....we'll see

While showing some of my paintings to my dad this past weekend I ended up starting work on another piece I started maybe 2 years ago...
I managed to do ALOT of work on it and like what I did...I mean, who wouldn't like the idea of a catholic school girl kickin stealth killers @$$....or is that just me :)

Oh yeah as you can see there's a bit of nudity in it...just a little heads up if you don't like that kinda thing....

Got some more work done on "boom" last night...which has made me crave sleep all day today :)
Reminds me of a great quote I read in "the Dirt", the book about motley crue...if you haven't read it you MUST...you have no idea what the rock and roll life style is all about until you read this...your wildest imagination x 100..hehe...anyway....the quote..."You have to suffer for your art....that's the rule!"
...so true!
On a sidenote I have a possible project coming up with my artwork(nothing superdupercoolio yet but it could be really sweet if done right)...not much work required by me, just using (and hopefully) selling paitings I've already done...let you know more if and when it happens...

So check out the updated "boom" and the close-up...it's kinda going where I want it to...let's hope I keep it that way :)

"Saint or Sinner" and "Salvation" touch-ups

Still lots more to do on "salvation", basically threw alot of paint over it all to bring it all together...think it's time to leave the acrylics on this one and let the oils take over...got a good feeling about it!!! Saint or sinner is pretty much leaning towards the final stage...not sure about the text on this one...it works for now though...

Been touching up alot of my paintings this weekend. Salvation, smoke 'em and the angel guy.... Also started and finished this piece "purrr"...it's waaay smaller than the others. I found a canvas at home about the size of an A4...acrylics and maybe 2 hours start to finish. Had alot of fun just doodling away and liked how it ended up....do you?

This is what happened to the "smoke 'em" sketch I was playing around with.
Talk about changing my mind while working on it...might even go through more changes before its done. Unfortunately the "final" whole picture I took was a bad photo so there's just the close up for now...so it goes from "Dude in Suit with sword" to "Dude in Suit with shorter hair and 2 guns" :)

Saint or Sinner

Did this in 5-6 hours the other night. Changed the face and now it's in between stages. So far it's all done with acrylics. Didn't like the look of his face so I put a wash over it and have plans to lower his jawline and well work on it until I like it :)
There are going to be alot of comicbook speach bubbles around him with small comments/prayers/thoughts from I guess humans...as he seems to semi-clearly be "not human"...more posts when I've worked more...

Under the weather

Sorry for not posting anything lately.
I've been sicker than sick going on 2 weeks now...sucks big time...
(note to every one...daytime tv aint that good in sweden...who invented the phone-in-guess-the-word-crap???)

Anyway, the plan is to go back to work this week, guessing wednesday(my birthday)...contrary to a previous post I actually miss work now...
All art at home has also been an stand-by...now that's a sure sign of me being ill :(
Gonna try to sketch out a new painting now...post pics as soon as there is anything to show.
...or should I sleep...no...that's what I feel I've been doing for 2 weeks...

Did a few touch ups on this one a few days ago...
Enjoying my vacation and added a "help my brother move to a huuuuge house"
What I listen to while I paint is very important to me...I should list the classics that are essencial and great songs that I always play...but here's what's hot right now... Fuel - " hemorrage (in my hands)" accustic...Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow - "Picture" and the one that rocks the most right now is...duh duh duh duuuuh Seether- "The Gift"...all very good songs...check 'em out!!!!

Vacations needed...

Didn't know how much I would enjoy time off from work....should I say I miss it incase collegues read this? Nah!
So far all I've done is sleep late, play golf, watch tv and paint...and I've got 2.5 weeks more to do the same thing!
Anyway, "salvation" has been put on hold for a while...kinda got lost in this piece...more oils were added hints of blue in the characters and text. a backlight and yeah well check previous post for comparisson...take care I'm off to bed and I got laundry tomorrow...everything that can be washed is in need of washing... ;)

Just a few more brushstrokes added making the rocks on either side darker. Unfortunately the camera pic isn't that great :(
The penciled art on the right is a little teaser of sorts...sketched onto canvas. Had an idea in my head of a girl dressed in some sort of polka dot outfit...it was supposed to be a dress but now it's leaning towards a bikini..."Polka Dot Assassin"...working title...bed time now
